Because one of the votes on this ballot was cast for the lowest (last-place) contest and one was for some "higher" contest (like a Senator), The program sets a special "hidden" flag. This flag "remembers" which candidate in that higher race was voted for ("Williams", in the example.) It will use that flag later. It then returns to normally read another ballot. This continues through all the ballots in the set, until the last one has been read. Then, the program moves to its normal totalling function. click to go there |
